Bollywood Films that Disappointed in 2013

My Bollywood journey as a viewer was not as good as I thought it would be. There were lot of agreements but more than that there were disappointments. Though the year is not yet over and there are still some movies which seem interesting, I would like to re-view the past and list down few films that appeared as cake but when eaten was wax.

1. Himmatwala: First thing that came to my mind before writing this blog is Himmatwala. Nobody can forget the 2013 version of Himmatwala. I guess there can be nothing as depressing as this one made by Sajid Khan. I hope I get away with it and forget the moment I watched the film. (twice, beat that!)

2. Aurangzeb - Another film that quietly released and also went off without any noise. Aurangzeb was not highly promoted nor it was conceptually elite. I guess YRF too was not convinced and hence they did not spend much on the film. But the way it was portrayed, it vanished exactly like that.

3. Yamla Pagla Deewana - One more disaster in the list. In order to capitalize on the name, Deols forgot to add a script in the film and all the goodwill created went in vain. I simply could not resist the film

4. Ghanchakkar - Nothing but Ghanchakkar disappointed me to the core this year. I was super excited to watch the film and was the first one to reach at the press show and was also the one who left first. With no quirky climax, the movie ended with huge dissatisfaction among the audience.

5. Zanjeer - I think I don't have to say anything about this. When my favorite film critic Rajeev Masand gives it a big ZERO than how can I like the film? But to be serious, Zanjeer is a cult in itself when it comes to disaster. I guess RGV ki Aag is no more in the 1st place.

6. John Day - When there are two of the most acclaimed actors in a movie, there needs to be a trust factor. John Day arrived with the same intention but it did not fulfill the demand as it was nothing but a waste of a brilliant performers. Another disappointment in the list.

7. Chennai Express - I know lot of people would disagree to this but trust me it was hard for me too to add Chennai Express in the list as I am a big admirer of Rohit Shetty. When the film becomes visually appealing it is not necessary that it will hit the audience. The film did a big business but I think it wasn't the one I was hoping for. No Hard feelings Rohit Sir, I still love you and a big fan of yours :)

8. Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Dobaara - Only one thing for the makers of OUATIMD, "Dobaara Mat Banana" (please don't make it again). Firstly I could not accept Imran Khan as a gangster and the next thing was the tone of Akshay Kumar in the film. His worst performance ever.

9. Besharam - When you talk about Badtameez or Besharam, there's only one actor in mind and that's Ranbir. The film was highly in the news since long but could not live even one percent of expectation.

10. War Chhod Na Yaar - I kept it as last because I think not many have seen the film; Well lucky you! I was expecting a lot from the movie but somehow it did not hit the right chord. No humor (rather irrelevant) poor direction and ineffective script failed the film. India's first war comedy became the worst war comedy too.

To conclude, there are still few films to release in i the last one and a half month which included Dhoom 3, Gori Tere Pyar Mein and Singh Saab The Great. I hope it does not disappoint and if they do so, You will find them on the list too very soon.

Ciao :)
